Area

Each local Mountain-rescue-team (MRT) has its own operational area. Additionally the province of Styria is internally divided into 11 operational areas. The area "Muerztal" will be attended by the MRT's of Kindberg, Groß Veitsch, Neuberg and Muerzzuschlag. Collective territorial exercises take place periodically, in case of major incidents all area MRT's will be alerted,  also MRT's of surrounding areas if necessary.

Our operational Area:

Styria area of Rax (Waxriegelhaus, Karl-Ludwig-Haus, Habsburghaus) - Schneealpe south east side - Kaarl - Lammeralm - Pretul/Stuhleck northern site - Styria area of Semmering - Scheibe.

Knowledge about the territory is very important for us, we also make use of all modern navigation-tools. Some rescue operations in the past have been aside known trails.
