Early in the evening, we were called to a rescue operation on the Kampalpe near Spital am Semmering. Two hikers had gotten lost in the summit area and, in the darkness, could no longer find their way back to the marked trail. Additionally, one of them was already exhausted. After a brief search, our team members were able to locate the lost hikers and, using ropes for safety in some sections, guide them safely down the steep and partially icy trail to the valley. The operation involved 8 mountain rescuers and 1 alpine police officer on standby.
