Successful nighttime rescue operation in the Schneealm area. Two young men got into trouble while descending from the Schneealm and no longer dared to continue their descent through the steep and avalanche-prone “Blarergraben.” One of the two men had slipped and was lying motionless and completely soaked in a steep gully. After being rescued from the gully, the severely undercooled patient was given first aid by two mountain rescue doctors in the rescue tent, which provides effective protection from the weather. The injured man was transported by the ÖAMTC helicopter to the hospital. In the meantime, the second man was accompanied down to the valley by other mountain rescuers secured by ropes. At around 2:00 a.m., all mountain rescuers returned to headquarters. We would like to thank all emergency services for their excellent cooperation.
