On Thursday, an exhausted hiker made an emergency call on the Rax. At the Bismarck via ferrata, which is very exposed and at risk of falling rocks, he didn't know what to do next. Comrades from our local station who happened to be at the Karl Ludwighaus and the hut owner, who is himself a member of the Tyrolean Mountain Rescue Service, were able to bring the hiker safely to the Karl Ludwighaus. The man, who had no climbing experience, was fed, spent the night in the refuge and returned home safely on Friday. See photo.
