This year's summer exercise was held on the Rax at the Martinsturm. The assumption was that a climber with companion had fallen into the rope and injured herself. Using a Dyneema rope, first the injured person was rescued with the rescue stretcher and then the uninjured climber. Afterwards, the comrades were able to rappelling themselves from the belay station over 70m to the base of the wall. See photos. During the debriefing at the Almgasthof Moassa we were then alerted to a fallen cyclist in the Traibachgraben near Krieglach. Together with the volunteer fire department of Langenwang, the rescue helicopter Christophorus 12, and the Red Cross Bruck-Mürzzuschlag, the athlete who had fallen about 10m over the embankment from the road into the forest was recovered and brought to the LKH Hochsteiermark with injuries of undetermined degree.
